Finishing my installation

It’s Thanksgiving. I woke up and immediately began working where I left off last night.

I have a super old HP Elitebook 8460p. There was something having to do with how it boots things up that wasn’t available in this specific model that was normally available for similar models. I don’t have any idea. I kept feeding information into ChatGPT and I kept making progress. That’s all I know. The good news is that I follow documentation I don’t fully understand all the time. Haha.

I was able to run Mint without issue from the thumb drive, but while I had ran through the installer and removed Windows, it would not load Mint when I restarted. I kept getting this Boot Device Not Found error.

After trying to rearrange the order things booted up by, repartitioning the drive a couple times… I finally got Mint to load from the drive and not the thumb drive.

Now, I am just getting moved in. Getting a few things loaded. Mostly just checking things out and seeing how everything works. So far so good. Might be doing this to the work computer soon.

I am also holding off on loading Google Chrome. I am fairly invested in Google products for work and general life. Still giving Firefox and honest try though.
